So I get asked a lot how to get in shape, stay in shape etc. While there are a lot of aspects to it, there are only two primary things that must be done when all is said and done.
- Be consistent. Be consistent in your workouts, be consistent in your diet. Simply showing up and being ready to do what needs to be done every day is more than enough to get you set on the right path. Showing up is half the battle.
- Plan. If you go in without a plan you are setting yourself up for failure.
So how do you build these to habit? You start doing them, and you do them today, and you do them tomorrow, and you do them the next day. You stay consistent. You find a time to workout, and you do that every day, come hell or high water, you commit to doing that every day.
Second plan out your goals. Know what you want to achieve, and when, and how. Figure out the nuts and bolts and then plan out how you are going to get from point A to point B. Plan out your meals and your food for the week. Plan out your workouts. Plan out what you will do to avoid eating the office donuts, plan out what you will do to avoid the gorging at parties.
Plan to succeed and stay consistent.
